I designed a bubble wrap jacket for my sewing lab class. I wanted to challenge myself by using a non-traditional material, and I also wanted to make it a fun project for myself!

It was challenging to figure out how to mark the lines of the pattern without making them visible as well as figuring out how to sew through the bubble wrap. The trick was to pop the bubbles that I was going to sew through, and the lines were marked with a white gel pen.
Sewing the zipper was another difficult part of putting the jacket together, because it was one of the last steps and the bubble wrap was becoming very delicate and it ripped easily.
The white pen that marked the lines is visible from up close but it doesn't disturb the design.
